Reflection

We often think we have to do something special in order to be seen or loved. But Jesus showed that God's love is not earned, it is received. He does not ignore you or push you aside. Before you have achieved anything, before you manage to get everything right, you are already deeply loved.

That day there were many people around Jesus. Grown-ups talking, asking questions, looking for answers. In the middle of all that bustle, some children began to come closer. The disciples reacted quickly. They decided this was not the moment. They believed Jesus had more important matters to deal with. So they tried to move those children away, as if their being there were an interruption.

But Jesus did something different. He saw them, and He did not ignore them. He called them close. He did not merely let them stay there; He welcomed them with love, blessed them, and gave them His attention in the middle of all that noise.

In a world where we often feel we have to deserve someone's love or someone's time, Jesus showed us something different.

To Him, children were not a bother. They mattered. And that is true for you as well. You do not have to do anything special to make God love you more. He already sees you, already welcomes you, and already loves you.
