Reflection
Keeping everything you feel inside can wear your heart out. Expressing your emotions does not mean losing control or being weak. God created emotions, and he also gave us the ability to share them. Speaking honestly can bring support, direction, and peace to what you are going through.
Daniel had been acting strange for several days. At home he barely answered, and at school he hardly talked to his friends either. When someone asked if everything was okay, he always answered the same thing: “Yes, it is nothing.”
But something was going on. Daniel was sad because he had been having trouble with some classmates, and he did not know how to explain what he was feeling. Part of him thought that nobody would understand.
One night, while they were eating dinner, his mom noticed his silence again. Instead of pushing, she sat down beside him and started a conversation without pressuring him. After a few minutes, Daniel finally found the courage to tell her what he was feeling. They did not solve everything in that moment, but something changed: he was no longer carrying that weight alone.
Sometimes we keep our emotions inside because we think that showing them is a sign of weakness, or because we cannot find the right words. But talking can also bring relief. God does not want you to hide everything you feel. He listens even to what is hard to say. And little by little, you can also learn to open your heart to people you trust.
