Reflection

Learning takes patience with yourself. Not everything will work on the first try, and that does not mean you are not capable. Very often, growth happens little by little, while you practice, correct your mistakes, and try again. God also uses these processes to form perseverance, confidence, and hope in your heart.

Emma was learning to ride a bike without training wheels. At first she was excited. But after a few falls, she started to get frustrated. Every attempt ended the same way: she lost her balance and had to start over.

At one point she set the bike aside and said, “I do not think I will ever get it.” Her dad came over and reminded her of something important: “Learning takes time.”

So they tried again. Little by little, Emma discovered how to keep her balance. It did not happen from one moment to the next, but every fall taught her something new. Until finally, she rode on her own.

Many times we want to do everything right on the very first try. When that does not happen, we think we are not capable. But learning almost always involves making mistakes, practicing, and trying again. God does not lose patience with our processes. He knows that growing takes time. There are things you are still learning today, and that is okay.
