Kindness usually shows up in simple gestures. Listening to someone, including them or staying beside them can make a huge difference in that person's heart. God also wants to teach you to look beyond yourself and discover how small acts of love can carry light and hope to others. João noticed that a new classmate was sitting alone at lunchtime. Some students hardly talked to him because he was shy and did not know anyone at school yet. For a moment, João hesitated. He thought it might be awkward to walk over, or that his friends might tease him about it.

Even so, he decided to sit down next to him and start a simple conversation.

As the days went by, that small gesture made the new student begin to feel more welcome and safe at school.

Sometimes we think that to make a difference in someone's life we have to do great things. But kindness usually starts with simple gestures: including someone, listening carefully, giving a little of our time, or showing sincere interest in another person.

God can use simple actions to carry encouragement and hope into someone's heart.

You never know how much a kind word or a caring gesture can mean to another person.
