Reflection
All of us feel afraid at some moments in life. There are situations that leave us unsure or worried. God does not step away when we feel fear. He stays close to walk with us, to strengthen us and to remind us that even in the middle of the storms we are still held by His love and care.
When the disciples were in the boat, out in the middle of the sea, a very strong storm began. The wind shook everything, and the waves looked far too big.
They were afraid.
Even though they were experienced fishermen who knew the sea well, they felt that this time the situation was out of control. Meanwhile, Jesus was asleep in the boat.
Desperate, they woke Him up and said, “Lord, save us!”.
Jesus stood up and calmed the storm. First, though, He reminded them of something very important: they were not alone in the middle of their fear.
Sometimes we also go through moments when it seems that things are out of control. New situations, worries, changes or hard thoughts can leave us unsure. Feeling afraid does not mean that you have little faith. It means that you are human and you need to remember Who is with you in the middle of the storm.
God does not always take away right away everything that scares us, but He promises to walk with us and strengthen us while we go through those moments. When He is present, we never face fear completely alone.
