Reflection
Words have a bigger impact than we often imagine. They can bring encouragement, safety and love, but they can also wound deeply. God wants to help you speak with more wisdom and care. Learning to think before you react is part of growing up emotionally too.
Lucas was irritated after a bad day at school. When he got home, his little sister tried to talk with him, but he answered with hard words, full of anger.
In that moment he did not think much about what he was doing. He only wanted to get out the frustration he felt inside.
Later he noticed that his sister was sad and quiet. Then he understood something important: words can stay in people's hearts long after they are spoken. Sometimes we speak on impulse when we are tired, frustrated or hurt. And even when we do not mean to wound anyone, our words can either lift someone up or cause pain. That is why God also wants to teach us to speak with wisdom, truth and love.
Words have the power to build, to comfort and to bring life. And even though every one of us gets it wrong sometimes, we can also learn to ask for forgiveness, to improve the way we speak and to use our words to do good for others.
