Reflection

Talking about what you feel does not make you less strong. God already knows your heart, and even so He wants to listen to you with love and patience. Expressing your emotions in a healthy way can help you find relief, clarity and company. You do not have to keep hiding what is going on inside you.

David wrote many psalms, speaking to God with complete honesty. Sometimes he expressed joy and gratitude; other times he spoke about fear, sadness, tiredness or frustration. He never tried to look like he was always fine.

When he felt worried, confused or hurt, he brought all of it to God in prayer. That teaches us something important: God does not expect us to hide our emotions.

Sometimes we think we have to stay quiet about what we feel in order to look strong or spiritual. But God already knows our heart, and He wants us to learn to come close to Him honestly.

Expressing emotions in a healthy way does not mean losing control. It means learning to recognize what is happening inside us and looking for help, direction and comfort in the right place.

Emotions were never made to stay locked inside the heart. God also created safe places to talk, to cry, to pray and to open up your soul honestly.
