Reflection

The heart needs rest too. Living constantly worried, tired or under pressure can wear you out deeply. God wants to teach you to stop, to breathe and to trust His care more. Resting is not weakness; it is a healthy way of recovering peace, strength and hope inside.

Desmond Tutu gave a great part of his life to helping people who were going through pain, injustice and very hard conflicts.

There were times when the situations around him felt emotionally heavy and far too tiring. Even so, Desmond Tutu often spoke about how important it is to keep hope, prayer and inner rest, even in hard times.

He understood that people were not created to live constantly ruled by fear, anger or emotional exhaustion.

Sometimes we think that resting means ignoring our problems or giving up on being responsible. But resting in God means recognizing that we do not have to hold everything up with our own strength.

God also wants to bring relief to a tired heart. There are moments when we need to stop, breathe, pray and recognize that we are not alone carrying everything we feel.

Rest can also be a form of faith. A way of trusting that God keeps taking care of our life even when we stop carrying all the weight by ourselves.
