Reflection
Emotions are part of life, and there is no shame in them. Even Jesus showed sadness and pain. God does not expect you to ignore what you feel; He wants to walk with you through all of it. Learning to recognize your emotions is part of growing up healthy and honest on the inside. When Jesus arrived at the place where Lazarus's family was, He found sorrow on every side. Martha and Mary were weeping over their brother's death, and the people who were with them were overcome with grief too.
Jesus knew He was going to work a miracle. He knew the story would not end there. Even so, when He saw the suffering of the people He loved, He wept too.
That moment shows us something very important: feeling emotions is not a sign of weakness.
Sometimes we think that being strong means never crying, never feeling sad, never showing what is going on inside us. Yet Jesus Himself expressed His emotions honestly. God did not create us as people without feelings. He knows our emotions deeply, because He is the One who made us able to love, to rejoice, to worry and to cry.
Feeling is not the problem. What matters is learning what to do with what we feel, and remembering that God stays close even in the hardest moments.
You never have to hide your tears from God. He understands your heart.
