Reflection
Holding in everything you feel can make your heart heavier. Talking to people you trust and expressing your emotions does not make you weak. God created us needing company and connection. Sometimes healing begins when we stop pretending everything is fine and find the courage to open our hearts.
Sofia had been quieter than usual for several days. At home she barely answered and tried to act as if everything were fine, even though inside she felt confused and sad because of something that had happened with some friends.
Every time she thought about talking about it, she was afraid of not being understood, or of seeming like she was making too much of it. So she decided to keep it all to herself.
But the more she kept it in, the heavier her heart became.
One night her mother noticed the silence again and sat down beside her, keeping her company without pushing her. After a while, Sofia finally began to say what she was feeling. They did not solve everything that night, but something changed: Sofia was no longer carrying it alone.
We often think that talking about our emotions makes us weak, or that it is better to stay quiet so we do not worry anyone. Yet saying what we feel can also bring relief, direction and support.
God does not want you to hide your heart.
He hears what you feel, even when it is still hard to put into words.
