Comparing can make you forget everything God has already put in your life. Every person has different timing, different processes and different gifts. Constantly watching other people's lives can steal your peace and your gratitude. God did not call you to compete with other people, but to grow and walk as the person He created.

When Peter was talking with Jesus after the resurrection, at one point he started to worry about what would happen to another disciple. He wanted to know what John's story and future would be.

But Jesus answered something important: “What is that to you? You follow Me.”

With those words, Jesus reminded Peter that he did not have to live with his eyes fixed on someone else's road.

Sometimes we do the very same thing. We look at what other people have, achieve or do better, and we start thinking that we are behind or that we are not enough.

Comparing yourself can steal the joy, the peace and the gratitude for what God is doing in your own life.

Every person has different processes, different timing and a different calling. God has never written two identical stories. While you spend all your time comparing, you can miss everything good, special and valuable that is also growing in your own life.

You do not have to measure your journey by anyone else's. God is writing your story too.
