Reflection
Comparing yourself all the time can make you forget your real worth. Social media and other people's opinions do not define who you are. God loves you deeply, and your worth does not change because of what other people think, achieve or show. You are still valuable, even on the days when you do not feel like enough.
Emma opened social media after school and started scrolling through other people's photos, videos and comments. The more she looked, the more it seemed that everyone was happier, more talented or more interesting than she was.
Without even noticing, she started thinking negative things about herself.
That night she was quieter than usual. Her mom noticed and asked what was going on. After they had talked for a few minutes, Emma said something she had been feeling for a long time: “Sometimes I feel like I am not enough.”
Her mom hugged her and reminded her of something important: “A person's worth does not change with the number of likes, comments or comparisons.”
We live in a world where we see other people's best moments all the time. That can lead us to think we matter less. But appearances never show the whole reality.
God does not measure your worth by popularity, by perfection or by recognition. Your worth stays the same, even on the days when you doubt yourself.
